when running full crawl gets time out error

Hi,

When running full crawl gets timeout error everytime

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond
within the specified timeout period. Try to crawl the repository at a later
time, or increase the timeout value on the Proxy and Timeout page in search
administration

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have set timeout to 120 seconds and unchecked the automatically detect seetings from the internet option. But still no luck. Am I missing something? in which server we need to uncheck the automatically dettect setting in the IE.

Please assist asap.

HI,Please check the link below that shows on increasing the time out values. The change in IE settings should be in Query servers.Because,Query is the one which gives the results in Search.

Hi,

As I understand, you get time out error when running full crawl in SharePoint 2010.

You could restart the SharePoint Server Search in Services on Server. You could go to central administration->system setting->service on server and choose the server you are using.

You could reset the index to check if it can work.

Best regards,

Hi,

Similar cases are reported to be caused by IE proxy settings. You can try to edit the Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings. Uncheck Automatically detect settings.

Hope this helps :)
