Hi George Zhou, According to your description, I found that you would like to grant user permission by setting their account in Microsoft SQL Server Management, in fact, we should set permission by report manager instead of MSSM, from your scenario, my understanding is that you want to grant administrator role to a user, please refer to the followings. Step one: create a system-level role assignment 1 .Open a browser window and type the Report Manager URL to start the application. 2. Click Site Settings at the top of the page. 3. Click the Security tab at the side of the page. This page shows all system-level role assignments that are currently defined. 4. Click New Role Assignment. 5. In Group or user name, type the name of a domain user account for a user who has administrative responsibilities for this report server. Note: specify the account in this format: domain\user. The account should be in the same domain as the report server or in a trusted domain. If you do not have a domain group that fits this description, you can specify individual domain user accounts instead. 6. Check System Administrator check box, and click ok to apply this settings. Step two: create an item-level role assignment 1. Click Home at the top of the page, click the Properties tab. 2. Click New Role Assignment, type the user account. 3. Select Content Manager, click OK to save the role assignments. When you complete steps above, the user could connect to reporting services on SMMS and perform administrative tasks on it. For more information, please see: Tutorial: Setting Permissions in Reporting Services: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337491(v=SQL.100).aspx If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
