webDAV problems
I am having the problem outline here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsetup/thread/599be24e-49dd-41b1-affd-df723e9c37ca/ My problem is that after editing the WebDAV_schema, I am still getting the error "Failed to get WebDAV settings on the machine (0x80070002) in MPSetup.log." I do not understand the part at the end about renaming the files, and I feel like this could be where my problem lies. I did not create a backup and just edited the file so there was only ONE file with the name WebDAV_schema.xml for IIS to be looking at and yet I still got the error with the correct WebDAV settings both in IIS and in the WebDAV_schema.xml file. What am I missing?

Kent, if you would have paid attention to my post you would see that I have been in this thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsetup/thread/599be24e-49dd-41b1-affd-df723e9c37ca/ where you posted the EXACT same link. The same link that I followed the intstructions on leading me up to this STILL being a problem. If you would READ you would know that I have changed the WebDAV_schema.xml just like in your link, but THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I asked for help with the part towards the bottom where that KCSteele guy says he had to rename the file. I do not understand that part, because I did not create a backup of WebDAV_schema.xml and I still receive the error in mpsetup.log. Please READ!

Sam you might need to remove webdav, IIS, reboot, reinstall IIS and Webdav. http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

"I made a copy of the XML file before editing it (WEBDAV_Schema – Copy.xml) and it still didn’t work. You need to change the extension to something other than XML. It would appear that the MP installer catches the first file (in my case the copy / original) and reads that… renaming to WEBDAV_Schema – Copy.xml.OLD did the trick…" OK the thing which i am able to extract out of the these lines is that this guy made a copy of WEBDAV_Schema.xml with the name WEBDAV_Schema-Copy.xml and edited the file which was named WEBDAV_Schema.xml, MP installer was reading WEBDAV_Schmea-Copy.xml then he changes the extension of this file and now its called WEBDAV_Schema-Copy.xml.old after renaming this file he was able to get it working. Hi, The windows\system32\inetsrv\config\applicationhost.config holds setting for customization of the Default Web sites WebDAV setting. You may check if modified the applicationhost.config to enable webdav. If the issue persists, what about to download webdav from MS site again to install and configure it: How to Configure Windows Server 2008 for Site Systems Regards, Sabrina This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
