Wel i created a hyper link list and added an extra column. In this column, i've added a label, for example 'production', 'training', 'administration / registration', ''custommers', 'other.. etc For this link list i created views based on the labels inside the extra column. Now i would like to include that link list inside pages so that employees can select a label of the column; and get those types of links. The problem is that i created this but when saved to a page, it does show all links.. Or if i pre define a view, it does show only links from that predefined label (the users cannt change it) How can i set the view to the users so that they can select on that labeled column; just like in document libraries; and grant it a default view ?

Well the General forum to which you posted it was certainly wrong. It's not a programming question so the choice is really between Setup/Admin and Design/Customization. If it can be solved by OOB methods it's Setup/Admin hence that was chosen. If it can only be solved by customization then it would be Design/Customization. Hi, Did you want to lets users be able to select views from pages? If yes, please go to your link list and do one thing for each view: 1. select the view in the ribbon 2. site action > edit page > edit web part from your link list > list views section > toolbar type to select "show toolbar". 3. then add link list into pages. 4. now the users with proper permissions to this list are able to select the views from view option at the top-right corner of the link list web part. Well i've created the link list webpart, added an extra column At that same page i've created the views. So far nice there it looks great. I created a new page (under the page folder in sharepoint 2007) and put in the "link list" i just made i set toolbar to "full toolbar".. but even i (admin) cannt select the views from here i would like to be able to choose a view and set a prefered view for my page.

Currently my doubt on this subject is, i like to present a list with a view selector just like a document library To me thats better then using filters / or view selections inside special formated HTML links under some buttons. >>although thats maybe not a bad idea too. Filters would be nice where it not for the fact that the included filters are verry poor with included filter types (for example no puldown menus) (in shar contrast to all the design things we have in visual studio..and sadly not even thats an option for me as i may only use the web interface to configure SPS2007 The problem point is once placed inside a page (you know i mean the page subfolder of a site) somehow people cant use the select different views (as an admin a i can define a view, but the user is unable to change it later to a different one. I'd like to have a prefered view and then work from there, and people be able to select different views. The later does work like that under the list items >but i need to have this on a page together with other smart things around it. my current doubt actually is would it work with a document library instead Dedicated to store hyperlinks files (*.lnk) .. although something in the back tells me that exchanging *.lnk files between users in the past could be problematic.. (but thats a view versions of IExplorer in the past; maybe thats fixed these days. Not tried yet. I think friday i can work on it again

Hi, Sorry, i thought you use sharepoint 2010 environment. Since sharepoint 2007 doesn't provide "show toolbar" option, there is no out of box way to realize your need. However, here is a workground: 1. add choice filter web part into the page and the add your link list web part into the next in the page. 2. add 'production', 'training', 'administration / registration', ''custommers', 'other.. etc into choice filter web part through choice filter web part >edit > modify share web part. 3. create web part connection between both of web parts through link list web part > edit > connections. 4. then the users can filter the view through selecting the different value in choice filter web part.
