I guess you are uploading a profile photo which is too small for the profile picture place holder. Please use an image with better resolution for profile images. In MOSS 2007 the images are not resized for profile photos and this behavior has changed in SharePoint 2010 and it just manages the images as Large,Medium and small like a Picture library. Dear all, we have to upload the picture of staff in a 3x4 format. So the profiles look very nice, but the problem I am facing is when I have user with photo as a column in a list, SharePoint out-of-box strecht these pictures to a square. Some Women do not like it because they get to look fatter then they actually are so they tell. :-) My question, is there a way I can have the photos on those lists with a 3x4 format instead of the square 3x3? Thanks in advance. Regards, GonçaloGonalo

Thanks Aravind. Sorry, forgot to mention that we have MOSS. We upload the photos with 150x200 px but they schrink to something like 15x15 (instead of 15x20) in a list view. That is actually my problem. Regards, GonçaloGonalo

Hi Gonçalo, Do you upload the photos to a picture library, and photo size had changed in Thumbnails view? I did a test base on this situation. The picture would not change the proportion. In other word, it will shrink the size (150x200) to 120x160, but keeping the 3x4 format in thumbnails mode. Here is a blog about resize the thumbnails in a Picture library. http://vspug.com/keutmann/2007/01/27/how-to-resize-the-thumbnails-in-a-picture-library/ If you create a column with picture type in a list, and add the picture by adding the original URL of the picture. The size of the pictures in the list would not change. Please check the size of the pictures (you type in the web address text box in the picture column). Perhaps you are using a wrong URL. The right picture URL should like this: http://server/Picture Library/pic.jpg Thumbnail URL: http://server/Picture Library/_t/pic.jpg Preview picture URL: http://server/Picture Library/_w/pic.jpg Best regards, Emir
