user friendly way to upload pictures in WSS?
Hi We are designinga simple intranet implementation based on WSS 3.0. For publishing content we are using lists, the content web part and the image webpart oob. However including pictures is very clumsy. You need to upload them to a picture library and copy-paste the url box whenadding the content. Is there an easier way to do this? Our content managers are going to struggle if we dont give them an easier to use alternative. We looked at FCKeditor but it stores its images in a file store which I dont want. They are not seachable and it does not scale properly this way. Any suggestions would be very welcome! thanks Norbo

Hi, I got the same problem as well. It seems only Picture Library in WSS3.0 offers the "Browse and Upload" image function, and we cannot even add custom columns to upload more images in an entry. Is there anyone has any idea that can help? I've ever though of customizing the EditForm of Picture Library to add my own "Browse and Upload" button to upload image. Not sure if it is feasible.......... Thanks, ML

From the new open windows, you should be able to upload pictures from your hard drive pictures folder. When pcitures are stored in the site Images folder, you should be able to browse them by going to Edit Page and Add New Picture. Let me know if this works. Thanks. Laoukoura

Hi I had the some issue when I was building some article solution for my company. I endup with building my own control to handle upload of the picture and creating my own layout page were I've placed this control so it was part of the page created by used based on that layout. anyway, you can try this : http://imageupload.codeplex.com/ I didn't tried this by my self, but it look like something you could use in your project to give people simple way of upoading pictures. Just make sure that you publishing page layout contain "web part area" hope that this helps Mariusz Gorzoch Blog : http://mariusz.gorzoch.pl Twitter : http://twitter.com/MariuszGorzoch
