Hi there, How can I use the report description property as a field value?

Hi IanStu, Accessing the report description value (manageable in the report server) is currently not supported from inside a report with expressions. But you also try a workaround as below:- select name,description from dbo.catalog which should give you the report names and desciptions. Now create a dataset which should contain the query something like: Select Description from dbo.catalog where name = ? and pass the report name as a parameter to the above query in the dataset which should retreive the description of the report and then you can refer this field in some text box Please let us know your feeback. Thanks Kumar, that worked a treat once I got my head round the parameters. Strangely it doesn't work straight away when I copy the report - worked out that I have to deploy the report first and then it only takes the description for the first time it is deployed methinks - I have to delete the report and then redeploy which creates a new row in dbo.catalog (it doesn't seem to update if I change the report description) Ian
