upgrading to windows 10

I see there will be a free upgrade to windows 10 for windows 7 ans 8 users. I am hoping that most things that work on windows 8 will work on windows 10, but have found some that wont. I put windows 10 on my old win 7 home premium HP DV6. I also upgraded it to 8 GB DDR3 RAM and replaced the 5400rpm hard drive with a 256 GB SSD, installed the windows 10 64 bit technical preview and it flies along very fast. Nero 10 lite works so I could port my licenced copy to it when win 10 arrived, office 2010 works so I could put one of my three licences on there too (I have office 2013 on two other machinmes, dont need to pay fopr another copy for occasional use). Unfortunately while the lightscribe system software installs and recognizes the drive the template labeller wont install. It does install on windows 8.1. Also I see there will be no windows media centre in windows 10. I am using it on another machine to run a USB TV stick, on this machine I have a Leadtek USB TV Gold running leadteks software, which was written for XP, works ok in 7, not sure about 10. If I can find drivers I suppose I could use Nero Media Centre to run the TV.

Does anyone know if those on windows technical preview will simply upgrade to the full version, or will we have to do a full reinstall? How will I get the free upgrade since the windows 7 install in on the hard drive I removed. Just use the windows licence key printed on the sticker?

Will an upgrade to windows 10 from 7 or 8 require a full reinstall of progr
