Hi, Updates and patches are downloaded to the client (XP sp3) but not installed. I hace checked the cache, and there they are. For some reasons they are not installed. This has been working in the past on other computers, but now it stopped. I have checked some log files (why are there so many?) but couldn't find any error message. where to look? and is there a way to manually start the installation of all the donwloaded patches?

did you set any dead line date for the patch deployment template? look at UpdatesHandler.log says from client side (c:\windows\system32\ccm\logs) for extra informaiton.//Eswar Koneti @ www.eskonr.com

Yes, I have set a deadline, and that date is passed. This is a PC which was not connected to the network before, so al lot of patches are missing. Now it is connected, programs are installed, but patches are only downloaded. this doesnt give any clue what went wrong. could you please also check WUAHandler.log ? try to run the run software update deployment and evaluation cycle and see if that helps .//Eswar Koneti @ www.eskonr.com

No I discovered that the patches are NOT downloaded. I have checked the cache folder again, and all the folders which should contain the patches are there, but they are all empty. Checked some log files, but couldn't find why. Somebody any idea?

the logs which you have posted doesnt reveal much information about the issue .Could you please also look into other log files UpdatesDeployment.log etc http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693878.aspx Other Software update point log files..//Eswar Koneti @ www.eskonr.com

Now I discovered that it was not working because the harddisk of the server was almost full. There were still some GB's left, but after adding more space it started working again.
