unix monitoring is missing
I reinstalled scom about 6 months ago. I was going to monitor some unix machines but realized that i cant. On tha administration tab under device management... agent managed, agentless managed, management servers, network devices, pending management..... no unix. I am running scom 2007 R2 cummulative update 2. Is there a setting i need to enable somewhere to have unix show up? thanks

Unix/Linux Servers option should show up once you are running R2. On top of the console - above the menu bar, do you see --> System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 - <Management Group Name>. Also, try to run the discovery and on the first page of the wizard you should have an option for Linux/Unix if R2 is installed. -- Regards, Vik Singh -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to click ??Mark as Answer? on the post that helps you, and to click ??Unmark as Answer? if a marked post does not actually answer your question. It does say R2 at the top. linux/unix is not listed in the discovery wizard

Was this an R2 upgrade or was it a slip streamed version of R2? -- Regards, Vik Singh -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This was a slipstreamed install. CU1 was installed on top of it followed by CU2 on the same day

I will try shooting in the dark however don??t think that this would really help. Can you setup a console install on a different machine and then connect to the Management Group and see if you see that option or not? -- Regards, Vik Singh -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I am too experiencing the same issue UNIX/Linux servers view not showing under administration tab under device management... agent managed, agentless managed, management servers, network devices, pending management I just noticed after installing R2 CU3 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2251525. I tried already removing/importing again the Cross platform MPs (Red hat linux 5). Also not sure what happened with 2 linux agents I had. I can't find them anywhere. My CU3 upgrade went fine with no issues by the way and SCOM seems happy. Any suggestions?

I re-applied the CU3 as well. I think this issue was before applying CU3 but I had not noticed it.
