unable to enable virtual application streaming in SCCM 2007 R2
I'm trying enable virtual application streaming in our SCCM 2007 R2 installation (used only for testing at this point). Following documentation here: How to Enable Streaming for Virtual Application Packages http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc161925.aspx ...as well as instructions in "App-V_and_ConfigMgr_Whitepaper_final.docx" whitepaper aren't working out terribly well. Both mention there should be a "Virtual Applications" tab in the distribution point properties screen that is not present on our SCCM installation. BITS and IIS is installed on the SCCM 2007 R2 system. The "Allow clients to transfer content from this distribution point using BITS, HTTP and HTTPS" option is checked. No option to enable virtual applications in the "Advertised Programs Client Agent" properties, either. :( Roles enabled for the SCCM server: * component server * device management point * distribution point * fallback status point * management point * reporting point * site server * site system * software update point * site database server John

You must have R2 (or R3) installed (and licsensed of course) on the site server and the console from which you are trying to enable this setting.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

Yes, SCCM 2007 R2 is installed and licensed on the site server. Still no option to stream Virtual Applications, though. :( John

Are you running the console on the site server or remotely? If remote, you must also install R2 on the remote console system also.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

Site server and console were all on the same host. I just upgraded the host to Configuration Manager 2007 R3 (including the QFE hotfix). Now I'm able to see the virtual application options as expected. Thank you for the suggestion. John
