unable to create diagram view error MPInfra_p_ManagementPackInstall failed
Hi there, I am trying to create a diagram view of a test distributed app in SCOM 2012 but I keep hitting some very generic errors. Steps: Monitoring Tab in SCOM Right click > Add new diagram viewSelect my distributed app as 'target'choose from templatepress ok,and i get this error: : Cannot resolve identifier MicrosoftSystemCenterServiceDesignerLibrary7084270!Microsoft.SystemCenter.ServiceDesigner.Service in the context of management pack Microsoft.SystemCenter.ServiceDesigner.Library. Unknown alias: MicrosoftSystemCenterServiceDesignerLibrary7084270 Monitoring Tab in SCOM Right click > Add new diagram viewSelect my distributed app as 'target'choose create a new template, all with default settings press ok,and i get this error: Note: The following information was gathered when the operation was attempted. The information may appear cryptic but provides context for the error. The application will continue to run. : Database error. MPInfra_p_ManagementPackInstall failed with exception: Failed to validate item: View_fe9554fbfd4a4350ba87e31807acfc2f Strangely I am able to browse to the distributed app via Administration tab and it will let me select the diagram view from here, it just wont let me add it to my dashboards. Can someone help me shed some light on this please?

Hi, this might be caused by the connection between SCOM and DB server, maybe there may be some pending or reboot requirement. Try to restart sql service to check what the result is.Alex Zhao TechNet Community Support

Hi Alex, Just tried rebooting both the SQL box and the SCOM server, but error still appears. Is there any other log file i can post to help you?

Hi, I'll involve someone who is familiar with SCOM to check it. Best Regards Scott Xie

Humjill, on which MP are you storing this Distributed App? The error is uncommon, but I would check if the MP that is being used for storing the view is the same where you are have the distributed application. Thanks Jose

I ended up creating a folder, storing this folder in the above mp, and recreated the view...all is well.
