I noticed that System Center Data Access (OMSDK) is not running and if I try to start it it fails : Windows could not start the System Center Data Access service on VOSSCOM1 Error:1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. Any idea? Thanks, Dom System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 / Forefront Client Security / Forefront Identity Manager

I noticed that System Center Data Access (OMSDK) is not running and if I try to start it it fails : Windows could not start the System Center Data Access service on VOSSCOM1 When you attempt to start the service, Is there anything in the Operations Manager event log on the SCOM server to indicate why the service is not starting? I am Sorry, Dom, I missed that " Windows could not start the System Center Data Access service on VOSSCOM1 Error:1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." You need to increase the timeout: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922918/en-ushttp://OpsMgr.ru/

Hi, There should be another event log called 'Operations Manager' under the 'Applications and Services Logs' folder in event viewer. Is there any more detail in there? MattMatt White ( http://systemcenterblog.hardac.co.uk/ )

Hi, I would try Alexy's suggestion first, that error about the SPN is important, but won't stop the service starting. MattMatt White ( http://systemcenterblog.hardac.co.uk/ )

Hi, Additionally, please also try the following: 1. Ensure the SDK Service is running; restart the service and check how it works then. 2. Regarding the error, please try the method in the following Knowledge Base article: OpsMgr 2007: Operations Console does not open and gives SDK service error http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2002620 Hope this helps. I ran into this issue today and I noticed when using a separate server for MSSQL I had to manually start the "OpsMgr VSS Writer" Service..Then it worked after starting it. Hope this helps.
