i have a team site which i created from a site template. I need it to inherit the parent navigation. 1) it seems that only publishing sites inherit the parent navigation and not team sites. Is there are any work around so that i can make the team site inherit from the parent site (which could be either a publishing or team site).

Hi, If the parent site is a publishing site and the subsite is team site. You can modify the navigation in subsite with same navigation in parent site. If the parent site is a team site and the subsite is team site. You can’t inherit the quick launch with parent site, but you can inherit the top link bar with parent site. Hope this helps Thanks! I am seeing different behaior in 2010. The team sites will not inherit the Global Navigation when the parent site is a publishing site. I really need to find an answer for this. Any help is appreciated.
