stsadm -o unextendvs does not work?
Hi, The stsadm -o unextendvs command does not appear to do what it says on the tin. I have a web app which was createdin the default zone, and subsequently extended into the Intranet and Custom zones on different ports. If I delete the main web application (default zone) through the central admin UI (Applications > Delete Web Application), it deletes the web application with no problem, and cleans up after itself nicely, deleting all references to the other zones. But if I use stsadm -o unextendvs, nothing happens. The command returns Operation Completed Successfully (thanks!) but it doesn't delete any element of the web app. All three zones still exist. I have tried using stsadm -o deletezoneurl to delete the two extended zones first, and that works - but the final unextendvs command still doesn't get rid of the web app in the default zone. I'm running the script using the same account as I run central admin, so I don't think it can be a security issue. Has anyone encountered this? ThanksAnthony

Hi Xavier, Thanks for the reply. Iam actually running stsadm -o unextendvs -url <url> -deleteiissites, as I don't want to delete the content db. Doing the same via the UI works. Cheers Anthony

I'm having this same problem. Does anyone have any additional info? Edit: To clarify, I am using the command correctly. It even says "Operation completed successfully". I intend for the command to delete the web application and all associated content, just as deleting the web application from central administration does. Why doesn't it work on MOSS 2007?
