stsadm -o import error
Hi All, I'm trying to import wss3 site from one environment to another using stsadm export/import commands. The export succeeded but when I'm trying to import I get the following error: The Web application at http://servername/sites/Projects/neo/Wley could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application. I know that the URL is working because I copy/paste it form the site URL itself. Is there something that i miss? Thanks a lot in advance

Hi, Try to create a blank sub-site whose URL ends exaclty the same way as the exported site (/Wley) and made that the target URL of the import. Regards, Silvina A. Pizzarulli. http://www.silvinapizzarulli.blogspot.com

Thanks Sivina, You are right. I should have run the import command in the production server and not the stage environment.

I hope you are not using a host header for the site on which you are trying to import the backup. If not try what Silvina has mentioned create a new Sub site and choose the Blank Site template and try importing to the newly created sub site. -Mukesh
