sql server error
You can execute the Surface Area tool from any machine it is installed on. By default it will want to connect to the local machine, but there is a [change computer] link that you can click on to connect to a remote serverChuck

Hi All
In BIDS when i right clicked on the FACT table to "explore data" (this table gets the data from the flat files on a remote server), buit i'm getting the following error.
"Microsoft SQL Native Client: An error has occurred while establishing a
connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may
be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow
remote connections."
I reaserched this error and got the colution at the following blog:
http://sqlservererror-info.blogspot.com/2009/07/error-has-occurred-while-establishing.html
But my question is should i do this process form my PC or the remote server ?
