special character in user profile concatenates job title in enterprise search site collection

one of the attributes imported from AD are job title through syncronization. Job title is also mapped to a MM term set in Manage User Properties in UP. Have the job title in AD as "Procurement & Administrative Assistant" and the term in the term store is the same "Procurement & Administrative Assistant" . After full sync and full crawl the job title on user's mysite is OK but in the enterprise search site collection under People concatenates both like "Procurement & Administrative Assistant Procurement & Administrative Assistant" . Noticed the "&" looks different in the term set than the one coming from AD but if I want to add one entry in the term set same as in the AD errors with " term already existent" . Any solution for how to get around special characters not to concatenate in the search site collection?

Thank you

Hi HDragos,

I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, and I got the results below:

  1. Test with Procurement & Administrative Assistant in term store, the search results show concatenated string.
  2. Test with Procurement Administrative Assistant in term store, the search results show Procurement Administrative Assistant.

Actually, after syncing with AD, the value for JobTitle in user profile is an invalid term. And in users MySIte, it shows Title not JobTitle.

For this issue, I recommend to modify the managed property for JobTitle in Search Service Application, select Include content from the first crawled property that is not:

After that, save the changes back to SharePoint. Reset Search index and then do a full crawl.

Best regards,

Victoria
