showModalDialog support in chrome after Apr 2015 and Exchange OWA 2010

Hi,

As many of us know, support for showModalDialog method in Google chrome will be ended starting May 2015 and so many things like attaching files in OWA won't work any more.

Till now, using this registry (group policy) solved the problem

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3001145

but as it says, it is effective till tomorrow (May 1, 2015)

Is there any fix for this in exchange 2010 SP3 from Microsoft or we should say goodbye to using OWA with chrome (and I think you're on with me that using light mode of OWA is not a good workaround cause this mode has very limited capabilities and functionality)

Thanks

I think it's going to be goodbye to Chrome if you use OWA 2010. In all the talk there has been about this, there has been no talk from Chrome about backing down, in spite of many protests from users; and MS have never mentioned putting any effort into making such a substantial change (and recoding to remove use of showModalDialog() certainly would be substantial) to OWA 2010. Like the similar removal of NPAPI, Google seem determined to unilaterally drag people kicking and screaming in the direction they want to go.

Hmm....

It is May 2nd, I updated my chrome to the latest but the registry hack, although it says and is believed to be effective just till the end of April, is still working and I can see and use modal popups and do things like attaching files in OWA !

what do you think ?
