sharepoint list permission, can it be set full control for the author of that record, and everyone else just read only?
for example, list has ID 1, title 1, created by user1(only user1 has full control, automatically) ID 2, title 2, created by user 2(only user2 has full control)

Hi George, There are two options here: 1. Within list settings click Advanced Settings > Item-Level permissions, set the permissions for everyone to "read all items" and in edit access selec" their own items". 2. You would need to use event handlers upon new items created - here is the link to help you further http://blogs.msdn.com/b/brianwilson/archive/2007/03/05/part-1-event-handlers-everything-you-need-to-know-about-microsoft-office-sharepoint-portal-server-moss-event-handlers.aspx hope this helps.-- techChirag
