I have created custom field and which is mandatory ..

while I am using upload button, pop up is coming as below..

but when m on clicking on new button on same library it is not asking for the mandatory field....

 it is directly opening word online document as shown below....

but after or before saving this document i also want to save some other values in fields but window is not coming to provide the values.......

any help will be appreciated ...thanks in advan

Hi Ravi,

It is by design. For a document library, when we click the "New" button or "New Document" button in ribbon, we can select a template to new document in online or in client side.

When we click the "Upload" button, we can just update some files, after the file is uploaded, SharePoint will redirect the end-user to "Edit" page, to fill in the out-of-box(OOB) fields(e.g. Title) and custom fields.

As a workaround, I suggest you set the default value for all the custom fields.
