Hi Amit,

From your description, you want to follow an event from a calendar in SharePoint 2013.

By default, there are four things that you can follow: People, Documents, Sites, and #Tags.

So, it is impossible to follow an event in SharePoint 2013.

More information about following in SharePoint 2013, you can refer to:

Ok got it, but alternate way can we upload a document(naming eventname.txt) for each event added by default in document library and let user follow that document? I think this workaround will work right?

Hi Amit,

I am afraid it is not.

I created an event and added an attachment using a document in a document library, then went to the document library and followed the document. After that, I went to Newsfeed, and saw the followings only contained the doucment, not the event.

Thanks Wendy!

What I am planning to do is add another content-type to document called hyperlink of actual event and then show that in the default metadata of document in followings. I will add event hyperlink to document while adding document to lib when event is added.

Will that work?

Hi Amit,

Can you add the link content type into a document library?

Per my knowledge, list content types only can be added into Lists, not library.

Hi,

Per my knowledge, there is no way to follow a calendar event.
