sharepoint 2007 faild domain and need to create a new domain
Hi DCSpooner, I understand that you want to create a new domain and join all the servers to the new domain. You can disjoin and rejoin MOSS and SQL servers to the new domain. The order which server to do first does not matter. You only need to ensure finally both SQL and MOSS are in same domain and it should be fine. For more information about the detailed steps ,you can refer to this site: Advice on Domain change scenario for Sharepoint 2007 Server: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepointadmin/thread/e547a497-7e17-4632-a636-85f0055effdf Thanks, Entan Ming TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contacttnmff@microsoft.com.Entan Ming TechNet Community Support

Hi DCSpooer, Which user are you talking about? If you are talking about users in AD, you can open AD and check the user properties and see which group the user is in.When comes to SQL server, you can open the SQL server management studio and check the Login users under the Security. Hi DCSpooner, I understand that you want to find the SharePoint farm account. You can check the Administrator Groups in Central Administration. Open Central Administration in browser.Click Manage the farm administrators group. The farm account is listed there. And you can add another user in this group to be farm administrator. For more information, please refer to this site: Finding the setup user administrator account of a sharepoint farm: http://sharepointpolice.com/blog/2010/05/04/finding-the-setup-user-administrator-account-of-a-sharepoint-farm/ Thanks, Entan Ming TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contacttnmff@microsoft.com. Hello, You can have either old or new account as SharePoint Farm Account. You can find out the old SharePoint Farm account by looking at App Pool identity of Central Admin application pool in IIS. Please remember to click 'Mark as Answer' on the post that helps you or click 'Unmark as Answer' if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Regards, Nishant Shah Microsoft Online Community Support
