secondary site requirements
Hi I wanted to know if i am to create a secondary site do i need to prep that server as i would for a primary site? I.e. Full SQL install, webdav, IIS etc. I'm mostly interested in the SQL as of the additional cost. Could i create a new SQL instance for the secondary site on a exsiting SQL server or does it have to be dedicated? thanks in advance...I'm quite new to SCCM

Hi, A secondary site server doesn't require it's own SQL server it will use the Parent Primary Site servers SQL server. So there is no need to install SQL however the IIS, Webdav, BITS, RDC and so on pre-req's are still valid. If you are tired of installing the try using this CMD file which will do it for you on a Windows 2008 R2 server, http://ccmexec.com/2011/03/installing-sccm-2007-prerequisites-unattended/ Regards, Jörgen -- My System Center blog ccmexec.com -- Twitter @ccmexec
