Hi, In SCOM there is no need for a script to disable a monitor for one server, you can simply override the monitor to disable it for a single object. To do this, locate the monitor you want to override, right-click it and select Overrides -> Override the Monitor -> For a Specific Object of Class:... Select the object you want to diable the monitor for, click OK and this will open the overrides window. Here, check the Enabled row and set the override value to False. Now, just select the MP where you want to store the overrides, click OK and you're done! David Allen | http://www.infrontconsulting.com Blog: http://wmug.co.uk/blogs/aquilaweb

Do you means disable a particular monitor for a particular server OR disable particular server monitor for a period of time? 1. disable a particular monitor for a particular server : you should refer to David-Allen suggestion 2. disable particular server monitor for a period of time: you should put the machine in maintenance mode Please refer the following blog for powershell script to put a machine in maintenance mode http://blogs.technet.com/b/operationsmgr/archive/2009/11/17/putting-a-group-of-computers-into-maintenance-mode-via-powershell.aspx Roger

Hello Sreedevi, So are you trying to override the monitor for different ports on different devices/servers ? Is this what you mean ? Regards, Abdul Karim. (http://sites.google.com/site/scomblogs Twitter:@Abdul_SCOM)

It is TCP port monitor. They have created 14 custom TCP monitors for 14 servers. So we need to disable these all monitors for every weekend reboot time slots. After completing the reboot again we need to enable these all monitors.

Why not use maintenance mode? Examples for url monitoring are here: http://www.scom2k7.com/schedule-a-into-url-maintenance-mode/ You need to get the class for each TCP monitor in a similar way and then iterate through putting into maintenance mode (or you could create a group and put the group into maintenance mode). So if you need script there are some examples here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb960481.aspx and this http://scompro.wordpress.com/2011/10/09/opsmgr-how-to-create-an-override-for-a-monitor-updated-sdk-sample/

Hello Sreedevi, The best option I see here is to create groups and populate the members. (Not sure if a dynamic group will help in this scenario). For example if you want to disable Port 5 for lets say 10 devices, create a group, add the 10 devices and then override that monitor for that group. This will stop the monitoring for Port 5 on all the 10 devices. Similarly, you can do the same to disable other ports for other devices. Regards,Abdul Karim. Hi Could you perhaps please explain which monitor it is you want to override. Is it an out of the box monitor or a custom monitor? What are the parameters that are exposed as overrides? How many servers are in the group?
