schedule Update in OS Image, what happens to the prestaged image created before?

Hi, can anyone tell me what would happen to a prestaged image if I add windows update through the "schedule Update Wizard" of SCCM, and therefore creating a new version of the image?

Will it detect thate  there is a change is the image and install the new version or will it still use the prestaged version? (I know for a package or application it will check the content on the DP and install the new version, but I'm not sure for the image itself)

I *think* it would just use the current prestaged image but I'd like a confirmation (without having to spend several hours testing it or doing it live and be wrong ;) )

thanks in advance!

I *guess* that the client won't be able to find the image on a DP as the version of the image package increases.

My understanding is that as long as the package ID is unchanged (and the patching process shouldn't change the package ID) then the TS will compare the the version on the local disk to the version available on the DP and download if the DP contains a newer version.  That's how it's advertised at least.  Definitely something I'd test.
