Im installing the SCCM 2012 SP1 in our environment but keep showing the "Another program requires the server to be restarted before Setup can continue."   even  I reboot 10x times

error: Another program requires the server to be restarted before Setup can continue.

OS : Windows 2008 R2

SCCM 2012 SP1

Please advise

 

Manually rename the PendingFileRenameOperations registry entry. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK to start Registry Editor.
In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Under Name in the right pane of Registry Editor, rename the PendingFileRenameOperations registry entry.

Verify that the following registry subkey is empty:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Verify that the following registry subkey is empty:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx

Quit Registry Editor, and then install SCCM 2012 SP1.

Thanks for the info, unfortuantely I'm still getting the same issues even I rename the below entry

rename the PendingFileRenameOperations to old_PendingFileRenameOperations and reboot

Just to double check: have you examined that pending reboot regkeys on every server mentioned in the log?

Where can I find that in the registry in the remote database server 

It's always the same regkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager -> PendingFileRenameOperations

Also please check the following reg values under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Server manager'

1. 'CurrentRebootAttempts' should be set to 0. 2. Delete string value 'Action', if it is present
