Hi, What error are you getting when the installation fails? Check in the SMSTS.log file. It could be that the installation returns 3010 and then the task sequence reboots. Check the log file and post the error here.. Regards, Jrgen-- My System Center blog ccmexec.com -- Twitter @ccmexec

it's difficult to be certain (since you have only posted part) but it seems that you are running setup.exe when the client is switched into WinPE. It is not possible to install software when in WinPE. Plus, I think it is pointless to attempt - what part of VMTools do you think you need in WinPE?Don

Hi, Where in the TS are you running this? it looks like you are trying to install the vmwadditions while still in Windows Pe, could that be so? The step must be after the Setup Windows and COnfiguration manager step.. Could that be it? Regards, Jrgen-- My System Center blog ccmexec.com -- Twitter @ccmexec

Hi Vishwajeet, Jorgen is right. It has also worked for me at the same location. It should be after the step "Setup Windows and Configuration Manager" in the TS. Along with that change the Run section from "Normal" to "Hidden" into the program of the Integration Service and use the silent command line as:"support\x86\setup.exe /quiet /norestart". The same way it worked for me. Hope it will for you too. ThanksGaurav Ranjan

Thanks for your swift reply. Now i understood that we can not install any software in WinPE. and now i have included my VMadditon step after the step "Setup Windows and Configuration Manager" in the TS. It worked fine in my lab. Thanks
