reusing site code for secondary
I uninstalled (not deleted) a SCCM secondary site . Secondary Site is gone from Primary console and Central console. I checked the system Management container in AD and no traces of secondary site . Would it still cause issues using same site code of secondary ? Is there a document why site code cannot be re used for secondary site ? Thanks

It's never supported to reuse site codes. Having said that I have been forced to do it but I have a well documented and highly unsupported method of doing so. I'd advise you NOT reuse it. Why do you even care what the site code is? Just use somethig totally random. I've gone to usuing absolutely meaningless combinations of letters and numbers just to reduce the likelyhood of having the same site code as someone else in a merger scenario. What happens to machines which are not sccm clients yet and shows in SCCM old secondary site code ? SCCM clients should not be a problem I think since they will have primary assigned site code .

That's not a problem. They will correct themselves once they get the client. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|
