report manager parameters , back button do not show
Hi, not sure this is an expected behavior. My drill through reports have parameters that are passed from the first report. once drill through, somehow the parameters are not showing in report manager. also the Back arrow is also missing from the second report. is this expected?thanks

Hi Tran, Please correct me if I am wrong, it seems you are using SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) 2008 R2. In SSRS 2008 R2, in the Report Manager, once we drill through reports, the parameter area will be hided by default. This is an enhancement in SSRS 2008 R2. It is used to extend the visible area for the report. In order to show the parameter area, we can click the Triangle above the toolbar. Also, in the Report Manager, we use the Internet Explorer(IE)'s 'Back' button to back to the parent report. So, short for your question, it is expected behavior. If there is anything unclear, please feel free to ask. Thanks, Jin ChenJin Chen - MSFT

Hi Tran, I dont think you should be seeing the parameters in the drill through report when you traverse from parent report to child report. If it happens, you may end up with issues like the user changing the parameter values on the child report and then hit back button, again he wants the relevant parent report to be seen. If you are browsing through the report server, then the traversal through drill through report and back to parent report should be done using the IE back button. If you are using report viewer control, you will find back button on the tool bar. Regards, Phani Note: Please mark the post as answered if it answers your question.

Hello All, I have hidden the parameters using Hide option in the parameters. But my issues is when I upload it in report manager I am not able to view the back button to navigate to the main report. Is this a drawback of R2 version, because I was able to view it when I was working using 2005. Regards
