report asks login name and password while using connection string instead of datasource
I am using connection string as the parameter in the report so that the report while running doesn't need the datasource. But the problem is, after i install the bat file and run the report, report asks for the login name and password. There is no way to applu the credentials in the report. I do not know, how i manag it? any idea plz? ............................................................

Hi Sumany, In SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS), we are unable to pass the credential(username and password) to the data source via connection string. When the credential is invalid, we will be asked to type login name and passwork whill viewing the report. In order to solve the issue, please double-click the data source in the report, go to "Credential" tab, and then check the item "Windows Integrated" or "Stored Credential" and provide a valid credential(username and password.) For more information, please see: Data Connections, Data Sources, and Connection Strings (SSRS): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156450.aspx If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you for the reply. But the problem here is, i run the .BAT file to pass the reports on the report server folder. There, i have no way to pass the credentials. While i deploy manually from the SSRS 2005, i did it like u described above but for the other case where i run the bat file, i have no way to provide the credentials manually on the report server. Any idea for my condition please............................................................

Hi Sumany, The 'Credential' setting is stored in the report definition(.rdl). So, if we have configured it in Business Intelligence Development Studio(BIDS), it will be saved to the report server too if we use .BAT file to upload the report to the server. Thanks, Jin ChenJin Chen - MSFT
