replacing scribe with ssis in Microsoft dynamics GP project
Hi I am new learner of ssis, know enough basics and assigned a task in new company. The project just evolved because here the talented DBA but does not anything about SSIS and Microsoft Dynamics(i too dont know about this one) simply suggested to client that how about replacing scribe software which is an adapter to the Adapter for Dynamics GP with SSIS as they are already using sql server 2005 with which ssis 2005 comes free, Instead of paying huge bucks to scribe. http://www.scribesoft.com/microsoft-dynamics-gp.asp But i dont know any one do it? is this practically possible with SSIS. If so should i use webservices or .net The dba just observed superficially the scribe software in project, asking me to import data from xml to sql server table and viceversa which is scribe doing in the seat of adapter. any one who has knowledge on scribe and microsoft dynamics and ssis please guide me.thank you

Your approach sounds solid and a way to go given your Microsoft Dynamics CRM is of ver 3 or higher. I would use CRM SDK in conjunction with C# or VB.Net, and with this you are going to consume a Webservice in a SSIS project. Here is a link to an article that covers the approach: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crm/archive/2008/05/07/integrating-crm-using-sql-integration-services-ssis.aspxArthur My Blog
