remove table cells
If an SSRS report is created with table cells, can an xml file or xml schema be used to remove the table cells when creating/rendering a word document?

Hi, Which version of Reporting Services you are using? If you are using Reporting Services 2008R2, we can control the visibility of report items based the rendering format. For example, in order to remove a table cell in Word rendering, we can specify the Hidden property of the textbox to the expression like =(Globals!RenderFormat.Name="WORD") Thanks, Tony ChainTony Chain [MSFT] MSDN Community Support | Feedback to us Get or Request Code Sample from Microsoft Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

Yes, it's Reporting Services 2008R2. I'm not trying to control the visibility of cells. I'm sorry I said it wrong. I'm trying to combine the data into one cell as much as possible without changing the layout look and feel of the report when exporting to word.

For Combining data into one cell you make sure that the individual tablix cells property-border is set as none and set the complete table properties as per the requirement.

Which border property? BorderStyle? It makes it look like everything is in one cell but it's not. I need the data to really be in one cell as much as possible.

I don't think what you want is possible. There is however a workaround. Make 2 tables, 1 table the one you have now, the other a table with the data in 1 cell, hide the second table. Lay them over each other then change the DataElementOutput value for the first table to NoOutput, and the value for the second table to Output. This way you show the current table, but export the hidden table.
