question about access rights
Hi, i have a simple contact list among other lists that we would like users to have access to via outlook the problem is that the sharepoint access rights do not make sense at all. we are trying to set all users to be able to create new contacts/edit existing contacts, but not delete them. so i simply went to my list, then settings/list settings/permissions, then i tested with a particular user account by giving him the "contribute" permission minus "Delete Items- Delete items from a list, documents from a document library, and web discussion comments in documents" now great, users can add new contacts, edit existing ones but the delete icon next to every list item is hidden...but when syncing to outlook 2007, what happens is that users can no longer create new contacts or edit the existing ones... this behaviour happens everywhere (lists, calendar items, tasks...) am i doing something wrong? help much appreciated. thanks,

Hi, Thanks to share your post. For the issue, please check whether your outlook is in the domain, or whether you have the access right to the SharePoint server. Or you can follow this article; it should give you a hand: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sfellman/archive/2007/06/25/issue-deleted-sharepoint-document-library-re-appears-in-outlook-2007.aspx. Hope this could help you! Leo
