problem with IE in FBA site
Hi, I set up FBA for sharepoint 2007,but I cant’t login in login.aspx, when I enter user & pass in IE 8 Browser ,nothing happen. I search about my problem in internet and found this solution to solve my problem: In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options . On the Security tab, in the Select a Web content zone to specify its security settings box, click Trusted Sites / Local Intranet , and then click Sites . Clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type the URL to your site, and then click Add . Click Close to close the Trusted Sites / Local Intranet dialog box. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box I changed my IE setting ,but I can’t login to FBA sharepoint site yet. Although I can login to FBA sharepoint site with firefox. Also I uninstalled IE8 and install IE7, but it doesn’t work and I cant login . Anybody knows what is wrong? How I can login to FBA site with IE? thanx alot.

Hi, Are other sites working? I don't think it is related to sharepoint.Check whether Java Script is enabled in browser or not. Internet Options ---> Security -->Custom level--->Scripting< and "Active Scripting" should be enabled. First Let me know about other sites event. Hi, According to your description, can you tell me what error messages you are getting through IE? page not found or 401? What version is your system operation? What about turning off certain software just like firewall?(Norton for example weird things.) I wish you every success in your important work. Best regards, David Hu

Please reply to this if you have any soloution for this issue. vinayts @ Vinay does your FBA site contain any host header ? If yes then Did you create an Host record in DNS for that ? @ Luckstar As you have mentioned FBA site works fine on server machine but not on network. So assume your client is a vista machine. If you run your IE in protected mode (normally it is), then you need to add your server as trusted location. (Add your FBA site to trusted sites) Otherwise you need to run your IE in administrative mode.(right click "run as administrator") And then try to log in on client machine.Regards, Pratik Vyas | SharePoint Consultant | http://sharepointpratik.blogspot.com/

Hi Pratik, Thanks for your quick response. The Host Record is created in DNS for the FBA Site. I added this site to the trusted sites zone and also tried browsing the site in administrative mode from IE. No luck.vinayts

HI, Try some more tricks if it can help you. 1. Your client integration should be enabled and whenever you login in IE just check the "Sign Me Automatically" option. 2. Clear your browser cache and temp files 3. I will recommended this hotfix if this problem is persist with IE 8 http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jjameson/archive/2010/01/07/bug-http-403-forbidden-with-fba-sharepoint-site.aspx Let me know if it worksCheers, Hemendra-MCTS "Yesterday is just a memory,Tomorrow we may never see"

Thanx Hemendra, 1. I check your mentioned setting.clinet integration is enable, but I don’t think my problem related to IE settings, because it’s Irrational to say every FBA user that change IE settings to enable to see my sharepoint site and allow to login to it! I think my problem related to network setting( like isa server settings, proxy and so on) and need configure settings in my network and sharepoint server not in users IE settings. 2. I clear my IE cache several time, but my problem didn’t solve. 3. Also I read your link, but its not related to my problem. Any other idea?! I’m appriciated if anyone can help me.thanx a lot.

Hi All, After changing few settings in IE we are able to login to the site successfully. The modified settings in IE are: · Added the site to the trusted site List (In IE goto Tools->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites->Sites->Type the site url and click on Add) · Allow Session cookies Option (In IE Goto Tools->Internet Options->Privacy->Advanced->check Always Allow Session Cookies). · Allow this trusted Site in Privacy Sites List (In IE Goto Tools->Internet Options->Privacy->Sites->Type the site url and click on Allow). We found this solutin from microsoft technet forums: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/sharepointadmin/thread/D5EF1E28-8F8E-42BF-AC14-A0D1B68D5F75 vinayts
