printer driver deployment using SCCM
hi, i have downloaded keyocera signed driver for mass deployment. i trayed to use sccm to import driver (OEMSETUP.inf) to the "Drivers" section but not successfully. Is any way to deploy this printer driver to existing computers using sccm 2007 r3. thanks aurimas

You wouldn't import it as a driver. That's for OSD. If the driver you downloaded has a setup it can be mass deployed from a software package. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

If there is no installation routine included with the drivers, you can use DPInst or DIFxApp and create your own for installation using Software Distribution: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg463103.aspx.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

No one said it was simple; it wasn't designed to be and there is no way for it (to my knowledge) to be initiated from a script. Creating driver installation packages is something driver vendors normally do for you and is not typiccally an admin task. However, is the printer shared on a Windows print server? If so, then it is acutually a trivial task to install the printer using a script and Windows will automatically install the print drivers from the print server.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Correct, ConfigMgr does not natively handle device drivers outside of OSD.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
