placing a sum
My report shows the drill down of fields, sum of fields i.e. total, grouping, etc... For example, it shows for each person all the transactions and the total for each date. at the end it also shows the total of all the transactions from dat1 to date2. Question: How can I place the sum of all the values for each person up until the startdate and place the figure just above where the person's value transactions start? Thanks Name Date Value person1 1/2/2000 100 Total 100 2/3/2005 50 2/3/2005 20 Total 70 ... ... ... Total 170 person2 1/2/2001 30 1/2/2001 40 Total 70 3/2/2009 60 Total 60 ... Total 130 ... ... TOTAL 300

Hi, Thanks for the screenshots but I think you mis-understood. I have a stored proc which retrieves the data I would like to display... On the report I take care of the grouping, etc as mentioned in my sample data. Now, what I want to do is: In the far right cell of the row where the date is, I would like to show the Balance brought forward, which is the sum of the values up to the mentioined date. Hope you see what i mean? Thanks

Hello arkiboys, In your case, I think we can add a subtoal for the "Person" group to achieve this.
