permissions sharepoint
Hi, we have our moss site configured for both internet as intranet acces. For internet we use forms, for intranet we use active directory. On our public site we have a webpart to log in on the site. When an anonymous user logs in this way he willbe added to the visitors group. The permissions for the visitors group are set to restricted read. If the same user wants toadd , edit pages he hasto sent an email. And by hand we will add the usera group with contribute rights. Now the problem: This user can't edit the page. We get anACCES DENIED error. We abslotely have no clue what it could be. We have also created an Active Directory user and added him to the same group with contribute rights. But he also gets the Acces DENIED error when editing orcreating a page. When selected edit the fils is checked out though.... We did alsolook in CA, perhaps the site was being locked. But unfortunately no! We haven't got the fogiest idea!!? Can someone please help. tnx, Joost

Found the answer!! - the permissions from the masterpage/ page layoutgallery also had to be set. Now the user was able to create or edit a page but the page couldn't be rendered. voila.. Joost

Hi , Yes you are right .You need to setup custom permissions for this Copy the contribute permissions and edit the permissions in which you would give that user permissions to edit the page Hope this helps ____________________________________________________________ Regards - Sushant Khambekar - MCTS Please Mark As Answer if my post solves your problem or Vote As Helpful if a post has been helpful for you.
