permissions on ssrs 2008 r2
I am trying to determine what permissions need to change on an SSRS 2008 r2 report server for myself. When I try to setup a new report using report builder 3.0 on the report server and I want to use windows authenication, I ge the error message,"Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON". However, the report server knows who I am when I save my credentials on the report server with the followihng two options selected: 1. Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source, 2. Impersonate the authenticated user after a connection has been made to the data source. Thus can you suggest what I might need to check on to see why I can not use windows authenication for myself?

Hi Wendy This is the issue when you have report server on one server and your database in on another server (Called the double-hop issue) For example, Server A for Reporting Services, Server B for Database, so Default NTLM authentication cannot pass the domain account (your Domain/UserA) from server A to the Server B. If you want to use Stored Credential to resolve this then the account should be hard-coded in your Report Server. However, if you choose this option Impersonate the authenticated user after a connection has been made to the data source, then it will try to connect to the database in Server B with the Stored Credential and then the query will be executed Please have a look on the following thread it might help you. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/240124f5-a400-4443-be5a-6ca3e0a93d00/ http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sqlreportingservices/thread/50606c90-71a2-45ee-8a68-ff4437ce07f0 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159736.aspx Many Thanks Syed Qazafi Anjum Please click "Mark as Answer" if this resolves your problem or "Vote as Helpful" if you find it helpful.
