performance issues with a few sites on the WSS server
I'm running WS 3.0 services on my server which is Win 2003 SP2, 4 CPUs that are quad 2.8 ghz amd processors, and 4 gig of memory with 1 40 gig HD and a 410 gig drive which is were the sites are located at. The server is running IIS for the WSS sites as well as SQl 2005 for the db (it was configured like that prior to me coming on board). There are several sites that take anywhere from 40 seconds up to close to a minute to load. These sites are populated lists from the database, etc. The CPU on server can spike up to 60% at times when accessing one of these sites, but not always. My question is, is there something I can use, run, etc, against my WSS sites to do some performance testing, tweaking, etc? What could cause my sites to run slow at times like this? It's normally when a person first hits the sites, the second or third time the sites are quick, but its the first hit for anyone that takes the longest time to load.
