i have a BDC filter that pass to a SQL report. i would like to pass the same filter to a list the list has 3 colmons that are BDC items (emp:Lastname,emp:firtname,emp:department) when i add a new item to the list i lookup the emp:lastname and then the two other columns are there. is there a way to pass the BDC filter to the emp:Department column i want to show only the department the BDC filter has.

Hi, Youll have to update your application definition file for the BDC to include this filter as an action. A good starting point is to read this article: http://sharepointmagazine.net/articles/developer/everything-you-need-to-know-about-bdc-part-2-of-8.
