overriding a value for a drive for a single server in scom r2
Hi, Request for changing the threshold value for the cluster server (A&B nodes) for the F drive. I have couple of doubts 1) can i add both the nodes into one group and override the threshold? or on each server nodes? 2) request is to set the alert for less than 8GB for warning and 3GB for critical for the total disk size 65GB. bit confused with these values. can qany one help with proper steps and guide me to do this ASAP. Thanks Vishu Vishu

You can create a group of the logical disk object (w2k3 or W2K8) for both servers, and set the override. So once you make the group and verify membership, override so that the % free > 100 and then do the mb settings for both warning and error. Setting % free > 100 will mean that condition is ALWAYS met, then the trigger will be free GB/MB.Regards, Blake Email: mengotto<at>hotmail.com Blog: http://discussitnow.wordpress.com/ If my response was helpful, please mark it as so, if it answered your question, then please also mark it accordingly. Find the monitor, right click, override for "other group" then select your custom instance group and change the values as you need them.Regards, Blake Email: mengotto<at>hotmail.com Blog: http://discussitnow.wordpress.com/ If my response was helpful, please mark it as so, if it answered your question, then please also mark it accordingly. Hi Vishal, You can try this way... Create a Group -> Explicit Member -> Add Logical Disk Object by (Using Search For Option and Look for F: Drive of both the nodes )->Finish by clicking Next...Next. Apply Overrides for the desired value. - Thanks, Sai

Try the below steps, still if you can't find provide me ur email info. Create a Group and place the Group in a MP (eg. call it as CustomDiskMp). Select the Monitor and Override (You will get the Option to apply for Group, select the created group from the list) and then save the Override in the CustDiskMp. Pls Note: If you're looking for % level monitoring, you have to set the MB value get breached by default, then only SCOM will looks for the % levels. You an set any value which is higher than the Free space inorder to breach. As the monitor will looks for both the condition Free Space MB and % Free space before firing alert. - Thanks, Sai
