outlook 2011 was redirected to the server

has anyone ever run into this?

My users get the following pop  up window when opening outlook 2011 while connected to their ISP. Selecting to remember my choice and clicking deny changes only stops the pop up for a few minutes and then its back. My users are ready to switch to mac mail because of this compounded on top of the e-mail not always showing in their inbox through outlook 2011 bu tyet appear on their iphone and owa.

outlook was redirected to the server search5.comcast.com to get new settings for you account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** http://search5.comcast.com/?cat=dnr&con=ds&url=autodiscover.blahXXXXXXX.com. This happens when outlookk 2011 is not directly connected to the exchange 2010 domain and gets mail through web mail.

Hi,

The issue may occur due to Autodiscover service. I’d suggest you ask the user’s to select the check box for “Allow this website to configure server settings” so that the users are not prompted with this redirect warning message again in their Outlook.

If the issue continues, please capture the screenshots below so that we can better understand:

1. A screenshot for the pop up message; it can help my research.

2. A screenshot for Outlook proxy exchange configuration; it can help me understand the scenario.

Thanks.

Your users should not click Deny, but Accept this warning message and allow Outlook for Mac to connect to this trusted URL. They should also as they already do already, select Remember my choice. This happens when Outlook 2011 connects to the HTTP redirection site or when it uses the DNS SRV method.

Outlook 2011 does not get its mail through web mail (OWA), but through Exchange Web Services. The access method is no different on your internal network ("directly connected to the Exchange 2010 domain") than on the Internet. But your Autodiscover is configured differently internally and externally.

Look at the Note under 2 D

Hi,

I have the same issue as the original poster. I get the warning message constantly for all users of our Office365 account. I check the box "Always use my response for this server" and click Allow every time, but after a minute or two the messages reappear. Here's a screenshot:

Ditto for me...I've got about 5 Outlook 2011 users using Hosted Exchange who get this prompt continuously and they are all ticking the box and allowing...so why isn't this preference sticking?

Thanks, Nick

I have the same problem here, office 2011 14.4.8, mac osx 10.8.5, we pass our user from exchange 2010 to office 365, and now we have this problem.

I recommend upgrading to Office 2015 (Outlook 15.9), the issue seems to have been fixed in that version.
