In SharePoint 2010 you can use Office Web Apps to let users open Office client application files in the browser (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote). http://blogs.msdn.com/b/officewebapps/ http://blogs.msdn.com/b/officewebapps/archive/2009/11/18/9924525.aspxjliu - johnliu.net - www.ssw.com.au

I feel if we disable Client Integration from the Central Administration, it should open up the office documents in Browser itself. just like an InfoPath form opens up in browser. By default, if your application is using Windows Authentication, it is enabled with client integration (correct me if I am wrong). But if it is FBA it would not work for client applications.BR, PM

Yes, I am talking about SharePoint 2007 itself. Check out these links for how to disable client integration: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263304(office.12).aspxBR, PM
