notification format
I have configured a notifiation channel, email. Now i would like to receive email on my mobile cellphone. This is possible thru gin.nl. With this website you can receive emails on your cellphone. Configured Essentials to send the alerts to the number.gin.nl.I receive these alerts but what is in the alerts i cannot read. It are all characters but there i cannot do anything with it. The alert that i receive in my outlook mailbox has a source like a ipnumber of the network device. Also this mail has a error description which is clear what is the alert about, but when i look at my cellphone at the alert there is nothing readable. Is this due to the encoding format? In the notification information settings there is chosen for the UTF8 uni encoding. Must i youse another enocoding format or another setting?freddie

Hi Freddie,I think this is a encoding problem. Please check your cellphone to seewhether it supports Unicode(UTF-8). And what kind of coding method can be supported? So you can choose the proper encoding method on the SCE server. Thanks,Yog Li - MSFT

Thx. According to my telephone provider i must use " plain text". The problem is that " plain text" is no option in system centre. freddie

Hello,The plain text is a term used for an ordinary "unformatted" sequential file readable as textual material without much processing. It is a different term with coding. You can try a differentcell phone thatsupport a html file. Thanks,Yog Li - MSFT

Hello,What kind of the encoding method is supported by the websitegin.nl? Make sure the text file was transfered properly. I didn't use the website or a Nokia cellphone. But I think a proper configuration should be needed on both side even if they support UTF-8.Thanks,Yog Li - MSFT

I have made a subscription to receive email to a cellphone. It is goiing thru gin.nl so cellphone number = number@gin.nl. Now som alerts are beiing sended to my cellphone. This works but i have still the problem that the mails are not readable. I have tried everything. Also have posted a thread on this forum but no luck. I must use plain text. Tried different settings with emailformat but the text isn't readable. When i choose the line in sce: generate suject line with no encoding.... then this is plain text i assume? But still not readable. It is a nokia 3190 cellphone. We are getting other mails to the cellphone which are readable but they are not from system centre essentials. freddie

Hi, the text, can you read it, or is it only a lot of strange characters, or is it simple unformated letter but the correct message?Anders Bengtsson | Microsoft MVP - Operations Manager | http://www.contoso.se
