network drivers boot image DOESN´T work
Hi All, I have a Notebook EliteBook 8440p and I installed the correct drivers. So, i deployed a windows XP SP3 image by OSD SCCM 2007 R2 SP2. So, that notebook boot by pxe and download the boot image. Then WinPe start and a window winpe image appeard with the following messages: "Windows is starting up" "Preparing Network Connections" and then I must run the task sequence, but nothing happen and it restart. So, I verifiy by F8 I winpe doesn´t have an IP address. Then I add the correct network driver (Intel 82577LM Gigabit) to boot image (Also I update Distribution Point and verified that driver appear on boot image properties) But nothin happened, Winpe is unable to get IP address. (DHCP is enabled and it works) Regards.

are you adding the right drivers (windows 7) to the right boot image ? you must use Windows 7 network drivers in your boot.wim files even though you are deploying Windows XP as you are using SCCM 2007 SP2 and the boot.wim is Windows 7 based (WinPE). what hardware are you testing on ? To add to what niall says... the driver needed is e1k6232 (6232 is for win7), e1k6032=vista and e1k5132=XP Michaelhttp://kongkuba1.spaces.live.com

try windows vista network drivers then, they can work sometimes, or if they don\t work, install windows 7 manually on the hardware and after a windowsupdate see does windows 7 load legacy network drivers for the device if so, export the drivers and use them instead My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
