network discovery Operations Manager 2012
I am monitoring about 100 network devices (different Cisco devices) with SNMP v3. 50% using "only Authentication" and the last 50% using "Authentication+Private key". All are set with SNMP+ICMP Firewall is disabled, and anyway \MonitoringHost.exe and ICMP is set to allow OUT and IN. However some of devices start as discovered and monitored but suddenly they are grey in status. If I take "performance" on those switches I have up-2-date performance data on them - but I wonder why those 20-30 are grey out and not "monitored" I have an excellent working SNMP Browser installed on the same server which works with SNMP3 and it get connect and SNMP Get on all network devices without problems (so no authentications issue here) At the moment 26 are greyed out, but 34 and in "Network Device pending Management" as "No response SNMP". why this ? Is there a way to deep debugging this and see exactly what is wrong. I have not found any SNMP v3. issues on the net with Opsmgr (I am aware of http://www.code4ward.net/main/Blog/tabid/70/EntryId/105/Troubleshooting-Network-Discovery-in-SCOM-2012.aspx) , so please help out here

check your management server health - the server doing the network monitoring. Gray means "cannot connect reliably" so if that watcher is overwhelmed or unhealthy, the status will show gray for everything it monitors.Microsoft Corporation

but this is for only 32 out of 90 switches which are grey (but the switches are healthy) -

Do you see any duplicated network devices in a console?http://OpsMgr.ru/

Nope - no duplicated devices - and no difference on device type and Cisco IOS (same type/model are healthy or greyed out)

Actually found out when SNMPv.2 is activated within discovery and a device was set explicit with SNMP3, is was grey out in monitoring with snmp v.2 version - hmm untagged the SNMP v2 as all devices are on SNMP v.3 and explicit set with snmp v.3 account. now some are dubplicated and greyed out now with SNMP v.2 and SNMP v.3
