moving sharepoint from one server to another with MOSS 2007
Hi, I am new to sharepoint.I have to move one of my application from one sharepoint server to another.I have read in the net the stsadm commamd to take the backup and restore that same to another server, I have done simmilar way but now i am facing the problem that those coustom web parts are missing in the new server except that all thing is working fine. Please help me where and how to find this web part from original server and how to configure the same in my new server . I am getting only the .aspx pages for those webparts , Now how to configure it to the server and how to deploy it to new server. Is there any easy meathord to move the wab parts . As told by you I have seen that on the page there were 2 web parts of type Ajaxsmartpart and webpart1 which are not showing as i have verified this from the original server. In the original server whee can i gety those so as to get them in the new server. I dont have designer installed. I have MOSS 2007, VS 2008, SQL server 2005 installed on both the server. The Ajax SmartPart should be easy enough if it's the one Jan Tielen's wrote, you'll be able to find this on CodePlex on the following link. It has full documentation and instruction on how to add this to your installation: - http://smartpart.codeplex.com/ In regards to the other webpart, if you can identify its components, you should be able to make a web part solution to deploy it to your new solution. This link will help you to create one. http://www.theartofsharepoint.com/2007/05/how-to-build-solution-pack-wsp.htmlhttp://www.final-exodus.net
