moss 2007: new web app and aams
Greetings all,
I have a MOSS 2007 & ISA portal with aams configured for internal (http://portal) and external urls (http://www.portal.org). I would like to make a new web application (http://portal:portNumber)
and configure an aam for the new web application with a unique external url (http://www.otherPortal.org).
I've been attempting to work through this with no success.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried navigating to http://portal:portnumber on the local Web server? Testing that should eliminate the ISA server as a possible cause of your problem.
There is a decent series of article on configuring AAM with ISA server 2006 over at
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sharepoint/archive/2007/03/06/what-every-sharepoint-administrator-needs-to-know-about-alternate-access-mappings-part-1.aspx. I recommend you check that out if you haven't already.

Yes, I can get to http://portal:portNumber initially on the local server without a problem. I've not been able to get
http://www.otherPortal.org to work on the local server.
I'm wondering if this has to do with the fact that I already have another website and AAMs configured on port 80. . .
