monitoring request form
Hi, How do your users/customers request monitoring? Do you have a form they need to fill in? Are you use an application to request monitoring? Thanks

I just have my customers send me a spreadsheet that would list events and services they want monitored and what alert severity and priority they would like associated with those. For performance I tell them what is possible and ask them to submit the object counter and instance, as well as the number of samples, and thresholds. Some consultants might have a form, but for the most part you ask the customer what their requirements are, and after getting those you can go back to them with various options that SCOM offers.Regards, Blake Email: mengotto<at>hotmail.com Blog: http://discussitnow.wordpress.com/

Hi Blake, Do you have a sample copy of the spreedsheet? We are using spreedsheet as well, but our customers find it too complicated to fill in, since SCOM can monitor so many different components. Thanks/George

I do not. They just send me what they throw together, and I use it and or have them updated it with data I need. Most of the time we have a monitoring request we get the requirements, then I try to "understand" them, but when that fails and or if I have questions, I organize a call and we go through the document and I explain to them what is or is not possible.Regards, Blake Email: mengotto<at>hotmail.com Blog: http://discussitnow.wordpress.com/
